Therapeutic Gardens
Gardens support healing
Healing takes many forms. One of those is using plants and gardening to help patients of all ages recover. Gardens in health care, called therapeutic gardens, support health and well-being. Research shows that gardens in healing settings provide many benefits, often helping patients to leave the hospital faster, take less pain medication and suffer fewer complications.
A national leader
Legacy Health is a leader in therapeutic gardens. We feature Healing Gardens across our campuses to offer therapy, a peaceful setting and gathering places for events and community walks. Many of our gardens are nationally recognized for their healing design and several have been featured in Landscape Architecture magazine and the Wall Street Journal. "The Legacy gardens ... set an international benchmark," one expert said.
