The Office of Philanthropy

Your gift makes a difference

Legacy Health provides high-quality, compassionate, family-centered care for every patient who comes through our doors. The generosity of donors, like you, help make our hospitals places of healing and hope.

Our work

The Office of Philanthropy coordinates fundraising initiatives for Legacy Health, the largest locally owned nonprofit health care system serving Oregon and Southwest Washington. Our foundations support the programs and services at our six acute-care hospitals, helping to enhance patient care, medical technology and research.

The future of health care: Legacy is leading the way

Charitable support helps Legacy Health lead the effort to transform health care in our region, acquire the latest technology and offer the best possible treatment and outcomes for patients and their families. We are currently focusing on the following initiatives:

  • Behavioral Health Care Transformation
Legacy Health has built excellence in caring for physical illnesses and is now leading change in how our communities care for those whose illnesses are mental, too. We plan to create an integrated, community based behavioral health care model focusing on patient-centered treatments for all those who seek care, regardless of their means. Through partnerships with community organizations that provide behavioral health services and support of the clinical programs and services for this fragile and underserved population, Legacy is taking the lead on effectively responding to our community’s mental health care needs.
  • Building Pathways to Emergency Care: A Capital Campaign for Legacy Good Samaritan
The modernization of Legacy Good Samaritan’s Emergency Department isn't just an update, it is a pacesetter for new ways to structure and deliver emergency care. By using a three pathways approach, we can meet the needs of the very different types of patients using our emergency services. Our senior care, urgent care and behavioral health pathways will improve efficiency and enhance our ability to provide excellent care for highly different needs.
