Craniofacial Care
Compassionate approach to conditions related to face and skull
The birth of each baby can bring its own set of questions and concerns. You may notice your child’s head shape or facial features are different. Many times, abnormal head shapes are simply the result of sleeping preferences or Flat Head Syndrome (Positional Plagiocephaly) which usually gets better on its own without intervention. This may be followed by your pediatrician.
There are some case where an unusual head shape or facial feature is caused by a change in how the skull and facial bones were formed before birth. Sometimes this happens as your child is growing. However, these can be associated with other health problems. If this is the case, your child may benefit most from an evaluation from a team of experts who specialize in craniofacial care.
