SILVERTON, ORE. – Nov. 9, 2022 – Today, Legacy Health is pleased to announce Family Medical Group primary care practices in Silverton, and Molalla joined Legacy Health, effective Sept. 26, 2022. 

Family Medical Group has served patients and families of Silverton, Molalla, and surrounding communities for more than 44 years. In joining Legacy Medical Group (LMG), Family Medical Group patients are now part of the Legacy Health system that serves communities from Southwest Washington to the mid-Willamette Valley. 

This transition to Legacy Health includes Family Medical Group family medicine clinics in Silverton and Molalla and on-site urgent care clinics. Family Medical Group staff will be able to provide patients with additional levels of health care, including access to specialized care available throughout the Legacy Health system of hospitals and medical clinics. Family Medical Group patients will have easy access to Legacy’s comprehensive network of services, such as its specialized clinics and specialty providers.

“There is no denying that the last several years have taken a toll on all aspects of our health care system,” says Shandra Greig, MD, site medical director for the new Legacy Medical Group clinics in Silverton and Molalla. “When deciding to join Legacy Health, we thought long and hard about what was best for our patients and our staff. We view this partnership with Legacy as a way to deepen our relationship with the community and to give our patients and their families additional levels of health care options.”

Patients across the mid-Willamette Valley will receive the same high-quality primary care, pediatric care, gynecologic, and urgent care services they’ve come to expect from Family Medical Group providers. Under the new clinic names Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Silverton Family Medicine and Legacy Medical Group (LMG) Molalla Family Medicine, patients can make an appointment with doctors online or by calling the clinic. Patients will also have the ability to access their personal health records through Legacy Health’s MyHealth patient portal.

The LMG Silverton Family Medicine clinic reopened to patients on Oct. 17, 2022, and the LMG Molalla Family Medicine clinic reopened to patients on Nov. 1, 2022. A brief closure allowed time for staff to move equipment, transfer the phone systems and receive training on Legacy Health’s EPIC electronic medical record system.

Patients will continue to see many of the same Family Medical Group employees during their next visit. When patients call to make an appointment at either the LMG Silverton or LMG Molalla Family Medicine clinics, they may experience longer than usual wait times due to the high volume of calls. Legacy Health and its staff are working diligently to improve the patient experience.
