Obstetrics & Gynecology
Obstetrics and Gynecology is a medical specialty focused on caring for the mother and baby from pregnancy through delivery as well as general health maintenance care for women. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of female illness and disease related to the reproductive system. Providers within this specialty also treat individuals experiencing difficulty conceiving.Midwifery
As part of Legacy Medical Group – Women's Health, midwives and other wellness experts are also being recognized as key providers of women’s wellness services in partnership with obstetricians and gynecologists.In caring for their pregnant patients, Legacy Health midwives follow a Centering Pregnancy model – a multifaceted model of group care that integrates the three major components of care: health assessment, education and support, into a unified program. Eight to twelve women with similar gestational ages meet together, learning care skills, participating in a facilitated discussion, and developing a support network with other group members. The midwife, within the group space, completes standard physical health assessments.
Midwives deliver exclusively at our award-winning Family Birth Center at Legacy Silverton Medical Center.
Women’s Wellness
Well woman care encompasses family planning options, well-woman gynecological exams, care for menopausal concerns, hormonal testing and balance throughout the life cycle.Services Provided
