Legacy's emergency services

When you need help and you need it right away, Legacy Health is here for you. Our seven round-the-clock ERs are close to wherever you live or work, with doctors and nurses who specialize in emergency care. And for less serious cases, we have fast-track rooms to treat you as quickly as possible.

Each Legacy hospital offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and laboratory services, including X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound. We also provide seamless access throughout the metro area to highly specialized Legacy services like trauma units, the Oregon Burn Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Units and much more.

All of which means that no matter what the emergency, from stitches to stroke, you can count on our rapid response, compassionate care and medical resources.

We also have more than a dozen options for urgent care.  And, our emergency room at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center is the first of its kind in the state to offer urgent care under the same roof as the ER.

Should you go to the ER or urgent care? Decide with our guide.

Children's emergency rooms

Some Legacy hospitals include a separate emergency room designed with kids in mind. For the most challenging situations, young patients can be transferred directly to Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, which features a comprehensive network of specialists and a pediatric ICU.

When does a child need emergency care? The guidelines here can help. For extra peace of mind, fill out the consent form and leave it with your babysitter or temporary guardian, in case you're not available when your child needs emergency care.

Safety and injury prevention

Our award-winning injury prevention and awareness programs will help to keep you and your family safe and sound.

Fast-track care

Many of our hospitals feature fast-track rooms designed to treat smaller health problems such as simple fractures and cuts or on-the-job injuries. By separating patients with critical needs, those patients with minor injuries or illnesses can be seen and treated more quickly. Hours of operation vary by site.
