Imaging Safety
Radiation is everywhere in our environment.
We get most of our exposure from natural sources, and only a small amount from occasional diagnostic tests such as x-rays. But some people are concerned about the effect of diagnostic test radiation on themselves or their children.
Legacy works hard to keep the radiation level low, for the safety of our staff, patients and visitors. Our state-of-the-art imaging equipment is regularly adjusted and inspected to meet national standards and regulations.
Just as with any risk we encounter in life, the risks of radiation from a diagnostic test should be balanced against the benefits. Imaging studies help to save many lives, and we try to make them as safe as possible.
