Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Ly is a primary care physician at Legacy Medical Group-Northwest. He received his medical degree from the OHSU School of Medicine, and completed residency at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He enjoys treating patients from all walks of life and has a special interest in transgender care. Prior to medical school, he worked in finance and developed a practice of investing early and redeeming dividends later. He uses the same principles in medicine, helping patients invest into their health early and experience valuable benefits over time. Dr. Ly is not accepting new patients at this time. Very smart, compassionate and listens to your problems. He k owns all my problems, communicate with my other doctors so we are all in the same page. He prescribes RX that does not complicate my other meds. N other medical problems. He's the best doctor I ever have; lucky me!!

Both Dr. Ben V Ly and staff at Legacy have provided excellent and caring service over the past 13 years(?)In the last year, Dr. Ly agreed to see my sister and she finds him to be the best physician she has ever used. Dr. Ly has been extremely caring, a champion for the patient, and excellent at coordinating specialty care and needs on behalf of the patient.

Dr. Ly continues to provide premium services when I meet with him in the office or internet. He has excellent interpersonal skills and extremely knowledgeable with a wide range of medical issues. When he doesn't he appropriately refers me to the appropriate services. I recommend him without hesitation.

3 years I thought this clinic was pretty awful and I attempted to transfer out. Since the summer, I have been pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone and helpful everyone has been. Dont know how this happened but kudos to all of you.

I love Dr. Ly - he's really the best. My only concern is that you have to wait SO LONG to see him. At least a month for a video appointment and two or three months for an in-person. When after an ER visit, they were not able to get me onto his schedule for a follow up until FOUR WEEKS LATER. My issues weren't life threatening, but it makes me anxious to think about if I would be able to see him in time if I were more urgently sick.

Dr. Ly is quite literally the best doctor I've ever had. He truly cares for his patients and goes above and beyond for me every time I see him. I've never before had such wonderful and thorough care as I have with him. He is absolutely outstanding!

The support staff are great and clearly overworked. The clinic beds better staffing and legacy needs to prioritize hiring more providers like Ben Ly. There's a reason he's booked out several months and is willing to schedule visits on lunch breaks. He is a vital and wholly wonderful care provider for me as a queer and trans person.

Dr Ly is amazing, he always goes out of his way for his patients. He is kind, understanding and he cares. He goes above and beyond to understand my medical conditions since they are so rare. He always listens to my concerns and always checks to make sure I am OK and that I understand. It's hard to find a doctor who will listen and who will go out of his way to understand a rare disorder.

First of all, Dr. Ben Ly is the best and most caring physician I have ever had. I am so grateful to have him as my primary care physician.My check-in experience was very odd. I entered the office, and two agents were at their stations. Neither one acknowledged me for more than 5 minutes. They spoke to each other and looked at their monitors, but they never looked at me or said they would be with me soon. Finally, a third agent -- maybe returning from break? -- took his seat and called me forward. I felt that the behavior of the original two agents was rude, dismissive, and borderline offensive.

The clinic staff were efficient and well organized. The MA was friendly and and talkative while also being efficient and helpful. Dr. Ly is fantastic. He addressed all of my questions and provided me with useful resources. He is an excellent physician and I feel fortunate to have him as a provider. This was a great visit from start to finish.

I don't use the phone to call this provider. I use the my health portal to make appointments. I requested an appointment sooner if one became available and this got me in about 2 weeks sooner. Dr. Ly is the best doctor I've ever had. He's smart, thorough and personable and I look forward to seeing him every year.

Dr. Ly is the best and I regularly recommend him to folks in my community. However, my experience with the Northwest Clinic as a whole has not been super positive. I've had bad experiences with providers, it's hard to get in touch with the staff, and I had to wait 4 weeks for an ER visit follow up.

It was disappointing to have to wait ~3 months for a clinic visit for a routine issue. This wait time is up significantly since I began seeing Dr Ly several years ago. I also find some of the MyChart interactions to be less than ideal as several times my messages to Dr Ly are inadequately addressed by someone else who 1) doesn't know me and 2) doesn't know or understand my health care background. For instance, I was planning to make a medication change for which some updated labs would've been useful. I was repeatedly told via MyChart messages from RNs or CNAs that the clinic policy does not allow for labs to be ordered ahead of an appointment. So, instead, I chose to forego the labs and make the medication changes anyway (via another provider) since I would have had to wait 3+ months for my visit and then a lab appointment. In the clinic and seeing Dr Ly: Wonderful. Wait times: Not good: MyChart messaging: Probably won't bother again.

Dr Ly is an incredible physician. Best doctor I've had in years and as a nurse practitioner,I am very experienced with health care providers. Dr Ly totally remembers all my issues,tests,and results..even without looking at computer screen. He involves me in the decisions about my health care , totally. He is warm, welcoming and so very kind and empathic. He is totally respectful of this [age removed] and treats me as a still productive person. What a gift it is to be his patient.
