About Me:

Dr. Britta Ameel considers Oregon her adopted home. Having moved frequently as a child, she discovered this great state while studying at the Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon, graduating with honors in Humanities. After college, Dr. Ameel taught English in France and obtained her Master of Fine Arts in Poetry at the University of Michigan. After working in the writing community for several years, she attended medical school at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), graduating with highest honors. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at OHSU, thereby solidifying her commitment to the women of this state. She provides culturally sensitive & comprehensive gynecologic healthcare to women of all ages, with a specific interest in narrative medicine, advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, family planning, transgender care, and vulvar dermatoses. She lives in Portland with her family and can be found in her garden or at the coast on weekends.

Dr. Ameel is truly exceptional. She is very caring and takes time to make sure you understand everything including potential options. The medical assistants and staff are professional, friendly, and kind. The overall atmosphere of the clinic is welcoming. I know I'm in a healthy and safe space here.

I needed to be seen asap. I had not been to this clinic in a few years but they bridged me back to a current patient. I was given a cancellation spot. They heard me and responded accordingly.
