About Me:

Dr. McCarthy is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon is a native of the Pacific Northwest who completed his undergraduate education at Honors College of Oregon State University followed by medical school at Dartmouth Medical School in New England. Bridging the divide of medicine-or-surgery, he completed a residency in general pediatrics medicine and plastic and reconstructive surgery at Dartmouth and UW-Madison Wisconsin, respectively. He has practiced at the University of Colorado Health in Northern Colorado since 2016 specializing in hand/wrist and microsurgery for breast reconstruction, treatment of lymphedema, limb salvage, and creative problem solving. He is committed to research and innovation developing a new technology for contrast enhanced peripheral nerve imaging using CT. Dr. McCarthy recognizes, and greatly values, the trust offered by his patients and is resolutely committed to safe, effective, and compassionate care.

One of the nicest doctors I've ever met. Very kind, courteous, personable, thorough & did NOT rush thorough my visit. Will definitely recommend him. Others could learn a lot from him.

I had an excellent experience with Dr McCarthy. He is such a caring, kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable person. I truly felt that 110% of his attention was focused on me. He was gentle, he explained things thoroughly, and he offered different options while also explaining the implications of each option. I left feeling very taken care of. Thank you Dr McCarthy!

Waited 45 minutes before Dr. McCarthy came into room ... Probably shouldn't schedule him for surgery on the same day of office visits.He was very kind & grateful that we stayed & waited. We were about to leave, though his kindness & concern made up for being so late.

My appointment was late in the afternoon, and by that time the doctor was running behind schedule. Other than the wait time on that particular day (5/16), I would highly recommend Dr. McCarthy and his team.
