About Me:

Board-certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine, Dr. Wood is a primary care physician at Legacy Medical Group-Northwest. She received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency in internal medicine at Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis in 2013. She completed board certification in obesity medicine in 2019. She enjoys treating culturally diverse patients from the ages of 18+ and particularly enjoys helping both her own patients and partner patients with diabetes type 2, weight loss/maintenance. Prior to medical school, she was in the U.S. Army in various roles but always worked in Healthcare and Healthcare administration where she most enjoyed helping and mentoring others. Personal interests: searching for that perfect restaurant and running to make up for the restaurant habit. Dr. Wood is not accepting new patients at this time.

Dr. Wood is among the best doctors I've had over 68 years. Also, this Legacy clinic is easy to access and the staff-nurses and schedulers-are consistently friendly. I find Dr Wood to be exceptionally knowledgeable and she possesses the ability to explain this medical knowledge as it pertains to me in a way I can understand. She is professional, skilled, and caring.

She is the perfect balance to being friendly and professional. She has always listened to me. And we always cover a LOT during our appts. She is caring and kind. And laughs at my funny comments. Which are are few, but truly funny. And to me that is everything. I learned a long time ago, If my doctor can't laugh a little, then I don't want them. She is genuine. And I feel it. I travel a sort of long distance to come see her. Instead of an office closer to me I am glad I found her and I hope to keep her for as long as I can!

This visit was slightly better than in the past because she actually made eye contact with me. In the past the focus has been on the computer. I am used to having a provider who shows some care and knows a bit about my history. I know health care is a bit of a challenge for providers right now but still I don't feel any connection or confidence in my care.

Dr. Wood could not be any better. She is so down to earth, knowledgeable, listens to questions/concerns and I feel like is an advocate and ally in my health. She strives to identify the cause of issues that are not just throwing medication at symptoms and I am a better and healthier person because of her. I hope to continue to see her for many years to come.
