About Me:

Dr. Paula Folger is a primary care geriatrician, new to Legacy Medical Group-Raleigh Hills. She has been a long-time internist and geriatrician at Legacy Good Samaritan, previously working as medical director of several skilled nursing facilities in the Portland area and in a small geriatric primary care practice. She is also Program Director for Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is delighted with the opportunity to be transitioning her clinical practice to geriatric primary care at Raleigh Hills. Dr. Folger received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She performed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Legacy Health, and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Folger continues to be an active member of the geriatric medical community and is eager to be welcoming patients 70 years and older, or those with medical needs associated with aging

My mom with dementia is treated very kindly by all office staff and Dr Folger is excellent at discussing the difficult topic of dementia with us.

Dr. Folger was able to elicit from my father his anxiety about the potential for continued physical decline. It was an amazing interaction. Truly a special moment -I feel lucky to have been there.

Excellent physician! Very well informed about Mom's health issues and provided thoughtful and sensible solutions. Very personable and quickly engaged Mom in the visit, listened to herConcerns and interests and put her at ease. Dr. Folger communicates with ALF as needed and is always quick to answer to questions.She has a kind and responsive staff as well.

I'm in need of a new walker, as mine is broken. But during the last month I have not received. During a vacation, the social worker in charge of my walker issue, did not contact me at all, nor the walker issue was not progressed at all. I am still in not possession of an unbroken issue, I believe it may be the insurance companies issue is of nocommunication.This is the ONLY issue I have in the office at all!!!

The only hitch was waiting too long at the end of the visit for nurse to return to give vaccine and paperwork. I think there was a misunderstanding that we were waiting

Dr, Folger is one of the best physicians I have ever had. I feel that, whatever health issues I may have, she will help me through them. Everyone in her office is courteous and efficient. I feel safe and supported. I just hope that she does not retire!

The phone system is the worst I've ever encountered in all my years of medical care anywhere. Kept on hold forever most every encounter. Leaving messages is of no help. The only positive I can say is WHEN you get the person who schedules appointments, she is very helpful.

I hate to recommend dr. Folger because I don't want her to have to schedule me 2 months + out. She is simply and honestly the best PCP I have ever had and I am 73!

Dr. Paula Folger is the best doctor I have had in my 88 years.She is knowledgeable,helpful, a keen listener, and collaborative.She is so popular, though, it is hard to get an appointment outside of a regular scheduled visit.Sometimes it takes longer than 3 days to get a message back from MyChart.

The transition from Dr. Siu to Dr. Folger was a bit rocky, due to a lack of communication somewhere in the middle. It all worked out in the end, but a bit annoying. I think there is something wrong with your system, where I had to wait months for an annual checkup past my normal date with a PCP that is very good. I will miss Dr. Siu, but very glad to have Dr. Folger now. She's great as well.

I have already referred family and friends to Dr Folger. As Monday is the day that OHSU residents are in the office, my appointment took an extra hour which I hadn't known would be the case when I made the appointment and the delay caused me to miss another appointment
